The comprehensive contribution of tourism to GDP is 10.94 trillion yuan, accounting for 11.05% of the total GDP. Tourism directly employed 28.25 million people, and tourism directly and indirectly employed 79.87 million people, accounting for 10.31% of the country's total employment.
The number of inbound tourists in 2019 was 145 million, an increase of 2.9% over the same period last year. Among them, there were 31.88 million foreigners, an increase of 4.4%. International tourism revenue was 131.3 billion US dollars, an increase of 3.3% over the same period last year.
The number of Chinese citizens traveling abroad reached 155 million in 2019, an increase of 3.3% over the same period last year.
