Germany has lifted travel warnings for more than 80 risk areas
Date: 2021-07-03
The Delta mutant strain is spreading rapidly in Europe.
On July 1, the German Foreign Ministry lifted travel warnings for more than 80 areas listed as a risk for the novel coronavirus, including all of Turkey and some resorts in Spain and Croatia.
While the Delta variant is known to be spreading rapidly in Europe, German Foreign Minister Maas defended the decision: "As long as there are positive developments, there is no reason to maintain the restrictions."
Currently, Germany's travel warning is limited to more than 40 countries listed as high-risk and where the virus has mutated.
