On the Qunar platform, in some small cities where you can stay in four or five star hotels for less than 500 yuan, the booking volume of high star hotels has increased by more than 4.7 times compared to before the epidemic, far exceeding the growth rate of medium and low star hotels.
On the Qunar platform, a search found that some high star hotels in cities such as Xuzhou, Nanchang, Liuzhou, and Taizhou during the "National Day" were less than 500 yuan per night, and even some luxury hotels in major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, and Hangzhou were priced below 700 yuan per night. High star hotels have become the preferred choice for users after multiple price comparisons.
According to Qunar's big data statistics, among the popular cities for booking high star hotels nationwide, the price increase of high star hotels in cities such as Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Zhengzhou is relatively small. The growth in booking volume of high star hotels in non first tier cities is particularly significant. According to Qunar's big data, the growth rate of high star bookings in cities such as Xuzhou, Nanchang, Liuzhou, Taizhou, Luoyang, Shangrao, Weihai, and Quanzhou exceeded the same period in 2019 by 4.7 times, with Xuzhou experiencing the highest year-on-year growth rate of 5.2 times, while Nanchang, Liuzhou, and Taizhou experienced a year-on-year growth rate of over 5 times.
Analysis by Qunar Big Data Research Institute: Reservations at mid to low star hotels around popular scenic spots are tight, and prices have increased significantly compared to weekdays. However, the prices of four or five star luxury hotels located in the city center are not significantly different from weekdays. These high star hotels that serve business and travel users on weekdays have become a cost-effective choice during the National Day holiday. In addition, in the past two years, "reverse tourism" has emerged, and many young people prefer to visit non first tier cities with good infrastructure and abundant tourism resources, avoiding popular destinations. Here, they can stay at high star hotels at lower prices and enjoy better services.
